John Glenn
Executive Chef

Though no relation to the astronaut of the same name, Executive Chef John Glenn, a pioneer in his own right, knows what it takes to get a high-quality dining facility running and how to cater to customers with discriminating palates. Chef Glenn is a graduate of the Connecticut Institute and a University of Connecticut with a major in geophysics. He was Executive Pastry/Tournedos Chef at Cavey’s Restaurant in Manchester, Connecticut, from 1994-2000 where he developed recipes and menus for their French and Italian restaurants until the cold winter of 1999 motivated his move to Florida.

Upon his arrival in Sarasota in 2000, as Sous Chef, Chef Glenn helped to open the Silver Cricket restaurant followed by the opening of the Lido Grill as Executive Chef. In both cases, he helped to set up physical facilities, hired and trained staff, developed menus and oversaw operations. He moved on to the Hillview Grill where he took on the role of Executive Chef, helping to upgrade the menu while maintaining oversight of day-to-day operations, catering and special events. He also represented Hillview Grill in The Taste of Sarasota, Hillview Village Festival and numerous cooking shows and classes.

Next, Chef Glenn focused on the opening of The Founders Golf Club, preparing unique menus to give members an exceptional dining experience. He developed a new nightly menu, creating the feeling of a completely new restaurant weekly. Now as the Executive Chef of the Horse Feathers Grill | Lounge, Chef Glenn and his staff will bring their enthusiasm and skill to providing an exciting new dining experience to downtown Sarasota.
